Dillon played QB/TE/DE for the 10U D1 Hinsdale Falcons Football Team. In his first year, he helped lead the team to a 5-3-1 record as the Falcons qualified for the playoffs, making it to the semi-finals before losing to eventual champs, Tri-Cities.
Dillon played QB/DE/OLB for the 11U D1 Hinsdale Falcons Football Team. In his second year, he again helped lead his team to a playoff birth, going 8-3 before losing again in the semi finals. For the year, his passing stats were 52-101 for 716 yards and 11 TDs against only 2 INTs. He was also the team's second leading rusher with 251 yards on 47 attempts, leaving him just shy of 1,000 yards of total offense.
Dillon took a big step forward as a QB/SS to help lead his team to an undefeated season (12-0) and won the BGYFL JV D1 Super Bowl. The Super Bowl win represented Hinsdale's first D1 SB in ten years. For the season, Dillon was the leading passer and rusher for the team, accounting for 17 TDs. Through the air, he was 45-95 for 503 yards with 4 TDs and 4 INTs. On the ground, Dillon rushed 131 times for 1004 yards and 13 TDs--he also caught 2 passes for extra points. He had season high rushing games vs Naperville (16-163yards 2TDs) and in the Super Bowl vs Lyons (27-151 yards 2TDs). His top passing game was against Park Ridge as he went 7-8 for 135 yards and 1TD.
Championship game; 4th QTR. Play utilizes short motion to get the WR switch from the CB to LB if playing man to man. Dillon sees the switch, and makes a solid vertical throw that sets up the winning TD.
Backfield motion is set. Dillon audibles at the line of scrimmage to get RB to be the lead block through best seal block hole. Hits the hole with good pace, and finishes with a tough run.
4th Down; we don't get the edge very well and Dillon is throwing off his back foot. Gets enough on the ball to make it a good 50/50 opportunity. Excellent high point catch keeps the drive alive which ended up with a game tying TD.
Championship game. Dillon has 3 pass route choices here; audibles to double corner routes based on CB alignment. Good trajectory on the ball (even better catch) for important first down.
Good ball fake and good timing in the hole. Makes a strong second level move that gets him into the secondary and then a burst through for a TD.
4th QTR vs Tri-Cities, less than a minute to play in a scoreless game. Dillon sees the safety go over the top of trips and audibles to best seal block opportunity. Well blocked and a tough run scores the winning TD against a team that we hadn't beaten in three years.
We had set the defense up earlier with a mix of QB/RB runs from this formation. Dillon makes a very good play action fake; the WR does a stalk block stem and runs past the CB. Dillon makes of good throw--TD!
Moving the pocket and throwing on the run--we seal the corner with a good RB block and hit the corner route in a 3 man flood pattern. Well executed.
Championship game; Motion is called; Dillon Audibles to best seal block option and has the RB Lead block through the hole. Good ball fake, a good downhill run and excellent move in the hole gets a first down on a 3rd down call..
Championship game; Good Ball fake and outside run; cuts under the block and is able to get some extra yards on the second level.
Championship game; Good touch and timing on an important 2 Pt play in the Championship game. Routes are a little messy, but Dillon shows good anticipation on the quick corner route. Good throw and catch.
Jailbreak sweep. Dillon gets to the corner quickly; good kick out block and then just outruns the defense for a long TD..
Good ball fake to RB up the middle; pivot sweep with a good read on the edge. Good speed to the outside for a big run.
Good ball fake holds the LB enough to get outside and then takes advantage of a bad angle to get more upfield yards. Good run.
Same backfield action and blocking scheme as previous play; this time reads the edge blocking well and cuts back for a good gain.
Game winning TD pass. Good pocket movement to buy time and hit TE on mesh route. Well executed
Roll out Flood pass called here; Dillon doesn't like what he sees and tucks it for a nice gain.
Dillon audibles at the LOS based on def front and LB positions. Good ball fake holds pursuit and he reads the blocking to get into the end zone.
The boys have successfully run the "Buffalo Bill" play since 10U; good execution and a good catch.
Dillon extends the play here; rolling right but keeps eyes and shoulders downfield. Good athletic play to get the throw off; good catch and run.
Roll out pass called to the trips side. Man under with a free safety over the top. D does a good job of getting to the corner and then leading the receiver on his out route. Big first down on a TD drive.
